Here are some basic
instructions to start you on your fun!

1. Start with a clean, dry terra cotta (clay) flower
pot.
2. Paint the pottery with acrylic (craft) paint. Let
each coat dry completely before you start another.
3. After you have painted the pot, you must seal it
inside and out (ALL surfaces). If you do not, you will have peeling, cracking
and bubbling. I use a waterbased lacquer. You can use a
spray or paint it on by hand. Do several coats, inside and outside of the pot.
Again, let each coat of lacquer completely dry before you start another.
4. Step back and look at your work of art!
If you followed all the directions using the correct products, you can now plant
plants and flowers in your pot.

Painting terra cotta pots is a great
craft to do with children. I love to paint with my kids! My daughter, Lily, just
painted her first Annabelle's Angels flower pot of her own. I am so proud of
